Alex Ward Profile Picture

Originally starting out my professional career as a Culinary Arts Management Degree graduate and later catering manager, I transitioned into teaching Mathematics in 2014 following successful completion of an MBA and a School's Direct QTS program.

I spent 11 successful years in the classroom, as a KS3, GCSE and FE Maths lecturer, developing my practise but also looking for opportunities to improve the learner journey, as well as my technical skill set.

I am highly competent with most database, spreadsheet and presentation software, on top of excellent knowledge of VBA and web design.

A proven track record of improving quality & efficiency in the Education sector.

As an educator with a passion for developing technology for use in the classroom, I have always sought to also provide 'Value Added' outside the classroom, to bridge the gap between traditional teaching and modern educational tools, aiming to create impactful solutions that foster learning, engagement and student assessment equity.

Making the Most of Available Products

With the UK education sector constantly being stretched with funding, it has been important to utilise existing software packages and subscriptions to minimise overheads and provide added value..

Personalised Learning & Provision

Students are at the heart of each product. All my products aim to improve the learner journey, support progress and achievement, and ease the administrative load on teachers and support staff.

D. Madden
Academic Support Worker HE / FE Institution

"The supported students often struggle with Maths and therefore don't enjoy Maths. Alex helps these students because he uses the connections he has made to engage the student and get them to work that little bit harder ... I wish there were more lecturers like Alex not fewer."

S. Morgan
Exam Support/Access Arrangement Co-ordinator and Assessor FE / HE Institution

"It was a huge success and my line manager has confirmed that vast majority of FE staff are keen to have the NWoW system rolled out across [the College] in all subjects. This will be so positive..."

R. Saul
Senior Lecturer FE Engineering Department

"Having purpose built diagnostic assessments that allow learners to follow their progress is invaluable to Engineering students here... My favourite part is the ability to have multiple versions of the questions generated."
